While this cover is obviously a fake, it did get your attention right? Ok, the story is real. A year ago I had a negative figure for net worth, while today I have a net worth of over a half a million dollars. Sadly, this is not the result of my online marketing, although that did play a significant part in this change. I also still have 73 grand in debt, but my house is mine outright as is my 2008 car.
If you don't get their attention, you won't be selling them anything. While this is pretty gimicky, it could be a useful tool. It was also free at

If I was going to use this I would probably put it on a splash page or a page that I used at traffic exchanges, and I might also do some changes (not just a better picture but that is a given here.) since I have the graphics programs to edit all manner of things. I would add a date and remove the advert for the site I got the original done at. I would change the Titles and make it so the print did not cut across my face (they have limited lettering you can do at the site.)
It also occurs to me that you could actually do this sort of thing with any magazine cover you wanted, as long as you made appropriate changes so that it was apparent it was not the real deal. (I think if you make it too realistic you are bucking for trouble with the copywrite folks on the mag.)
Mis-spelling the title would be the most obvious way to keep out of trouble although some magazines probably have some kind of screwball copywrites on other parts of their covers.
In any case, it was fun and gave me some ideas to kick around.
